My Thoughts…

👻 Haunted House
👻 Demonic Possession
👻 Tragic Ending
🫶 What worked for me…
This book is scary! It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to read a truly scary and haunting book. I was absolutely craving the need to be frightened, and Lee Mountford did just that with “The Demonic.” The details Mountford includes in his story about the creepy old house and the paranormal hauntings will knock your socks off. This story is also inspired by the Brass Farm murders, which took place in England during the late 17th century, making it that much scarier.
🤷♀️ What didn’t work for me…
The prose of Jon, who is the main character’s husband, was really cringeworthy. I’ve never heard anyone talk to their wife and kids the way Jon does. Jon is a man of science, which I admire, but he is also very condescending and only offers slight encouragement to his wife and kids.
🤔 Would I recommend it…
I would definitely recommend this book if you’re in the mood for a fright. If you enjoyed “The Amityville Horror,” you’ll love this one!
