A famous artist, Alicia Berenson, is serving time at a psychiatric unit for allegedly shooting her husband five times. Theo Faber, a criminal psychotherapist, gets wind of Alicia’s case and leaves his current position to pursue and treat Alicia, who has remained silent since the murder. Will Theo get Alicia to talk? What will she say?

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides, from the multi-layered character backstories to the twisty ending. This is the second book I’ve read by this author, and I’ve come to a conclusion: Michaelides is an expert at writing characters that you can’t trust. While I was immersing myself in this book, my mind was spinning with accusations.
This book is a short read with short, snappy chapters, superbly developed characters, and fascinating but disturbing psychological themes.
I honestly couldn’t find a single negative thing about this book. Therefore, I highly recommend it, and it’s worthy of a five-star rating.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
