Book Review – “Someone In The Attic” by Andrea Mara

In “Someone in the Attic” by Andrea Mara, we follow Julia as she moves her family back to Ireland from California. When Julia’s teenage daughter shows her a TikTok video, she is stunned and wonders if it’s real. The video features a masked man climbing out of her attic and exploring her new home.

The first 150 pages of this book were honestly a bit of a snooze fest, but after that point, the plot picks up, and it ends up being an addictive, non-stop thriller. There are so many red herrings set up in this story and many potentially guilty characters.

This story is set in a luxury, private, gated community, which adds to the difficulties of figuring out who is filming these videos inside Julia’s home and why. There are some side stories with different characters that will further throw you off the mystery.

Overall, I wasn’t able to correctly guess the outcome, which made it even more exciting.

I highly recommend this great thriller-mystery!
