“The Married Man” by K.L. Slater follows Liv as her husband suddenly disappears during a day out with their son, Maddox. Eleven years later, Liv is waiting for a huge chunk of money to appear in a secret bank account, presumably to be deposited by her “missing” husband. However, when the money doesn’t show up, Liv starts digging into her husband’s whereabouts. If her husband is still alive, why hasn’t he deposited the money? Has he remarried and started a “new” life?
Thank you to the publisher, Bookouture, for approaching me directly with a review request and for the gifted copy. All opinions expressed here are my own.
This novel is filled with multiple characters, which took me some time to sort out. It was a decent enough story; however, there were many outrageous twists that made it too overwhelming and unbelievable. Unfortunately, this book was just okay but not memorable. I’ve heard that this author has plenty of great books to offer.
If you’re looking for a cat-and-mouse chase story with exciting twists, this may just be for you.
