“The Family Lies” by Angela Henry follows Sabrina Adams as she is hired by the Dorset family to bring their old private library to life. However, once Sabrina arrives at the sprawling estate, things seem too controlled. Sabrina has new rules to live by, including locking herself in her room after midnight. When she discovers that multiple murders have been connected to the Dorset estate, she tries to dig deeper to uncover the truth. But what if she can’t trust the family?

What bookworm wouldn’t want to read about someone becoming a private librarian for a wealthy family? That’s all we dream about! To say the setting was desirable is an understatement; I truly enjoyed it—thoroughly.
This is a solid psychological thriller that allows the reader to draw conclusions and constantly guess the different directions in which the novel will go. It certainly keeps you on your toes.
The only thing that could have been better for me is if the ending hadn’t been so rushed. It seems thrown together rather hastily, but it is still satisfying.
