New Review – “Dead Med” by Freida McFadden

“Dead Med” by Freida McFadden follows multiple medical students as they navigate their first semester at a college dubbed “Dead Med,” named after the school’s ongoing drug problem, which includes multiple overdoses. Each part is broken down by each student, from the first class to the gunshot in the anatomy lab. Does the gunshot have anything to do with the constant drug problem at the school, or does it go deeper?

I really enjoyed this story with all the drama and pressures that evolve around a medical student’s first year. My favorite student’s POV was Rachel. She’s so out of place in medical school, and she truly is the most fascinating character. Plus, the drama surrounding her was fantastic. She really kept me on my toes.

Much longer than other McFadden novels at 460 pages, this book truly kept me engaged. I would recommend it to any thriller lover who enjoys a good medical thriller. Although the medical aspect was present, it did not detract from the story as a whole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
