New Review – “She Started It” by Sian Gilbert

“She Started It” by Sian Gilbert follows Annabel, Esther, Tanya, and Chloe as they accept an invitation to a fabulous bridesmaid party: a fully paid trip to a private island in the Bahamas. The only problem is that they have no idea why they are being invited by Poppy Greer. Ten years ago, in secondary school, the girls were relentless in bullying Poppy. But hey, who could refuse a fully paid vacation to a tropical island, right?

This is a brilliantly planned tragic novel, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The setting was amazing, and the drama was the height of the story. The POV of each woman really contributes to each character nicely, as you get a sense of who each of them is. You’d think these women, now adults, would be able to come to terms with the past and be more mature about the situations they put Poppy through. Perhaps an apology would be nice. But sometimes, drama queens never actually grow up.

I have to admit that the ending was both satisfying and terribly sad. Overall, I recommend this thriller, especially to those who have been victims of bullying.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
