Book Review – “The Wife Upstairs” by Freida McFadden

“The Wife Upstairs” by Freida McFadden follows Sylvia as she is down on her luck. A job offer is presented to her, with good pay and benefits. Who can turn that down? Sylvia is ultimately hired by Victoria’s husband to take care of Victoria, who had a terrible accident that resulted in a brain injury.  But is Victoria truly as unwell as she appears to be?

Many will find this story very similar to “Verity” by Colleen Hoover; however, Freida McFadden takes the premise and makes it her own. It’s creepy, slightly twisted, entertaining, and a true popcorn thriller. With subtle twist after twist and an ending unlike that of “Verity,” it’s truly one to read.

Overall, “Verity” by Colleen Hoover is superior. In my opinion, this book is worth reading, as it offers a different take on the story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
