Book Review – “Do You Remember” by Freida McFadden

“Do You Remember” by Freida McFadden follows Tess Strebel, a woman suffering from a traumatic brain injury, as she wakes up day after day with a seven-year gap in her memory. Tess lives with her husband and is taken care of by a young lady named Camilla. The only problem is that she has no recollection of her husband and is still in love with her ex. She doesn’t trust these strangers in her life, and there’s a good reason for that. Does her husband really have good intentions for her?

The format of this book is very similar to the famous movie “Groundhog Day,” with Tess waking up every morning with a seven-year memory loss. However, as the reader, seeing the scene play out daily allows you to fully start drawing conclusions about the sinister events in Tess’s life. It was very readable and unputdownable; I just had to know what happened to Tess in the end.

Talking about the ending, at first, it’s a little underwhelming for McFadden’s typical writing style. However, the epilogue takes it to a whole new level with a shocking conclusion. It was not at all what I was expecting and was a nice yet not-so-nice ending, comparatively. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so you should just read it! Give it a go!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
