Book Review – “Between Two Strangers” by Kate White

“Between Two Strangers” by Kate White follows a struggling single artist, Skylar, as she unexpectedly inherits a large sum of money from a man with whom she had a one-night stand ten years earlier. The problem lies in the fact that this man was married. Why did he move his trust to her, and who is trying to sabotage her life?

I really enjoyed this suspenseful thriller. With one point of view, it dives deep into Skylar’s past with dual timelines and her confusion in trying to remember the man she had a fling with for just one night. But that doesn’t even cover half of it. She is constantly being terrorized by someone, whether it’s the lawyer from the estate, the confused and bitter widow, or the mother of the man she slept with. All the while, she is trying to excel at her art and dealing with a tragedy from the past that has disrupted her family life, which comes to light.

It was well written; although somewhat sluggish at some points, it still kept me guessing throughout. The ending was unpredictable for me, as I wracked my brain the whole time I was reading, trying to figure it all out. I never came close.

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, suspenseful mystery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
