“The Crash” by Freida McFadden follows a young woman, Tegan, as she braves the Maine snow on a drive to her brother’s home. However, after she loses control of her vehicle, she becomes stranded all alone, heavily pregnant and with a broken ankle. Help does arrive; a large, burly man rescues her and takes her to his cabin to wait out the storm. But what if this burly man and his wife have other, more sinister plans for Tegan?
Freida McFadden has done it again! This popcorn thriller is highly entertaining, and the setting is perfect for the season. At first, I didn’t understand Tegan’s worries about the couple looking after her, but when the POV changes to the wife helping Tegan, it becomes clear that things are about to get strange, as the wife has only her own best interests in mind.
Overall, I got some serious “Misery” by Stephen King vibes here, and it was just part of the intensity this book offers. I highly recommend this one to popcorn and McFadden lovers alike.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
