“Family Murder Night” by B.E. Fournier follows the POV of three siblings as their estranged billionaire mother hosts a murder-themed costume party for the last time. There are a lot of messed-up family dynamics and money involved. But when a guest is killed at the mansion and a tornado is in sight, can the guests remain safe when there’s a killer among them?
If you asked how I felt about this book, the best scenario I can come up with is that it felt like playing a game of Clue. All the characters had something they were hiding, which made it difficult to determine who the suspect was. This book is classified as a psychological thriller, but it was 100% a mystery of who dunnit.
I had a bit of fun reading this book, but I honestly thought it would have more of a thriller theme. I was hoping for more of a hide-and-seek element, but that just wasn’t the case. It’s more of an amateur sleuth detective book.
Overall, it was just an okay read—not a memorable one. Happy reading!
