New Review – “Cross My Heart” by Megan Collins

“To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness.” – Briana Wiest

She has his dead wife’s heart; the one she wants is his. The author of The Family Plot brings her signature prose to a twisty novel about a heart transplant patient who becomes romantically obsessed with her donor’s husband.

What in the world did I just read? Oh, I read “Cross My Heart” by Megan Collins, and wow, I enjoyed the heck out of it. The main character, Rosie, is absolutely obsessed with her heart donor’s husband, and reading about her journey was quite the ride. After some time, she starts researching the famous writer’s dead poet wife, and her poetry speaks louder than just words. Did the husband have a part to play in his wife’s death?

There’s so much more about this book I want to discuss, but reading back to the synopsis tells me I’m in uncharted territory if I go any further. I seriously don’t want to give away any spoilers. So, just know that there’s a murder mystery, romantic obsession, recovery after a breakup, learning to love oneself first, and a strong emphasis on the author twisting this domestic thriller into the ultimate psychological thriller. Trust me when I say you won’t know the whole truth until the end of this book. You will be so thrown off that you will trust nobody.

I really enjoyed this novel, and I think most thriller readers will too! That’s why I’m giving it all five stars. Happy reading!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
